Before you start cooking your mixture, leave it out for an hour to an hour and a half as the mixture needs to reach room temperature. As well as this, you will also need to ensure that you Pre-Heat your oven to 200 degrees. Once your mixture is at room temperature, use a large oven tray with 1/3 cup of vegetable oil or alternatively, divide this oil in a 12 hole bun tray. Next, place inside the oven for around 10-15 minutes or until the oil is so hot that it is bubbling before you add the mixture.

The perfect Yorkshire puddings
  1. Once you have prepared you ingredients, start by putting 150g of flour into a large mixing bowl and sprinkle in half of your oxo cube.
  2. Next, crack each egg into the mix individually and mix after each one is added.
  3. After each egg has been beaten into the flour, carefully pour in a small amount of your milk and mix again. As well as this, you will need to make sure the milk is added in small amounts and continue to whisk throughout.
  4. Once the eggs and milk have been added, mix until you have a thick mixture with no lumps.
  5. Last but not least, add a pinch of salt and pepper to the mix.
Prepare oil
  1. Once your oil is ready and your mixture is at room temperature, very carefully pour in your mixture. At this point, your oil should sizzle when the mixture is poured in.
  2. Finally, it is time to cook. Next, Cook at 200 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Once the Yorkshire pudding is looking crispy around the outside, turn down the oven to 190 degree. As a result, the middle should cook better without burning the outside of the Yorkshire pudding.
The perfect Yorkshire puddings- Top tips

Although the perfect Yorkshire pudding is a very easy to follow recipe with few ingredients. Unfortunately, many factors can make your pudding go slightly wrong.
Below are our top tips to ensure you get amazing results every time.

  1. First, it is very important to make sure that your oil is EXTREMELY hot! Additionally, If your oil isn’t boiling hot in the oven before adding your mixture, your Yorkshire pudding will not rise.
  2. Another top tip is to ensure that you add all of the eggs separately. Again if you do not do this, the pudding won’t rise as well and you will end up with a lumpy batter.
  3. As well as the tips above, it is also important to turn down your oven once the outside of your pudding is nice and crispy. As a result, this will ensure that the centre is thoroughly cooked but the outside doesn’t burn.
